This isn’t your average golden retriever; the Okami is a crossbreed between a wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd, making it a truly unique and, according to some, controversial pet.

The proud owner, identified only as Satis, claims this eight-month-old pup, already tipping the scales at 165 pounds and standing nearly 30 inches tall, is the first of its kind. “I spent 50 million rupees because I love dogs and I want to bring unique breeds to India,” Satis stated. This purchase shines a spotlight on the burgeoning luxury pet market in India, where status symbols are increasingly measured in kibble and pedigree.

A Breeder’s Passion or Extravagant Display?

Satis is described as a well-known breeder with a collection of over 150 dogs, manny of them rare and exotic breeds. This recent acquisition isn’t his first foray into high-end canine companions. Reports indicate that he previously purchased a chow-chow resembling a “chining panda” for a cool $3 million USD.

These pampered pooches reside on a sprawling seven-acre estate, cared for by a dedicated team of six employees and fed a diet of fresh meat. “They have plenty of places to run,” Satis proudly proclaims. But is this the epitome of responsible pet ownership, or simply an extravagant display of wealth?

The Price of fame: Selfies and spectacle

Satis’s collection of rare dogs has turned his estate into a tourist attraction of sorts. People are reportedly paying between $2,600 and $10,000 for the privilege of spending time with his dogs, snapping selfies and marveling at their unusual breeds. “I spend a lot of money as these dogs are rare.But I also earn enough because people always want to see these dogs,” he explains.

He elaborated by stating “my dog and I attract more attention than the actor at the movie premiere – we are really crowd magnets!”
