During a surprise appearance on twitch streamer xQc’s live stream, will Smith hinted at a “realy cool” “Hancock 2” idea currently in development. While no official confirmation has been given, smith dropped a significant bombshell: Zendaya is being approached for a role in the sequel.

“There’s a really cool Hancock 2 idea,” Smith said during the stream. “We haven’t even talked about it. I’m going to give you one little piece. Zendaya [is] being approached for a role in Hancock 2.”

The Long-Awaited Sequel

The prospect of a “Hancock” sequel has been circulating for years. The original film, directed by Peter Berg and starring Smith as the titular amnesiac, alcoholic superhero, garnered a mixed reception but enjoyed commercial success.

Director Peter Berg had expressed interest in a sequel back in 2012, citing scheduling conflicts as the primary hurdle. “We’ve been talking about the sequel between us, Will Smith, [producers] Michael Mann and Akiva goldman and myself. Charlize Theron, who played Smith’s love interest in the original film, echoed Berg’s sentiments in 2020, stating her openness to returning for a sequel if the chance arose.
