The letters of independence from SYRIZA, of Alexandros Avlonitis, Petros Pappas, Ralias Christidous and Kyriakis Malamas, were read by the Speaker of the House, Konstantinos Tasoulas, in the Plenary Session of the Parliament. Mr. Tasoulas, after the independences, informed SYRIZA and PASOK have the same number of seats, 31. However, as he explained, SYRIZA remains the official opposition, as according to the Rules of the Parliament it received more votes in the last elections. “In view of this tie in the number of seats, SYRIZA remains the official opposition party because in the elections of June 2023 it got more votes than PASOK”, said the Speaker of the Parliament, who informed the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou about the new composition of the Parliament.
Domino developments in the political scene
In order to change the balance of power in the Parliament, one more SYRIZA MP will have to become independent and remain with 30 MPs, in which case he will automatically lose the position of Opposition Officer which will be won by PASOK with 31 MPs. While the Kasselakis side needs 10 MPs to form a parliamentary group. In the meantime, the already large group of 14 independents was strengthened after the stormy SYRIZA conference with 4 more MPs and it counts 18 MPs.
SYRIZA: The torture of the drop from Kasselakis supporters – Who stay until they leave
The MPs who support Stefanos Kasselakis are going on a white strike within SYRIZA, as one after the other they announce that they are resigning from the positions of responsibility they had assumed in SYRIZA, however they remain in the Parliamentary Group.
Theodora Tzakri, with her statement, officially closes his door SYRIZA as he states that he is submitting a letter of resignation at the same time that Georgia Poulos declares that she is not independent. Theodora Tzakri said that “I submit my letter of resignation, but I remain in KO”. However, this will not be for long since, as he said, “I am resigning from my positions, I will leave SYRIZA and join the new Kasselakis party, when it comes out.” Ms. Tzakri spoke to ANT1 and told Giorgos Papadakis at the same time that today there will be other MP resignations.
In her letter of resignation Mrs. Tzakri stated: “Mr. President of the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA-PS
With this letter I am announcing my resignation from the duties of the Secretary of the SYRIZA-PS Parliamentary Group as the grave trauma caused by the actions and methods of the competent bodies of SYRIZA-PS, before and during the party conference , structurally shook my confidence in the basic principle of the collective operation of the people-legitimated supreme body, i.e. the Parliamentary Group that institutionally represents our party in the Parliament. As part of your duties, I ask you to immediately inform all the members of the SYRIZA-PS Parliamentary Group about my irrevocable decision. Theodora TzakriMP of Pella SYRIZA-PS”
Let’s remember that after the independence of Papas, Avlonitis, Malamas and Christidou, PASOK now counts only one seat separating it from the official opposition, while Koumoundourou spoke of defection and asked the MPs to hand over their seats. The new party of Stefanos Kasselakis will be announced in about two weeks, he also revealed, stating that there has been no preparatory work for this party. If there was, we would have a name and executives and everything, he said. Regarding Alexis Tsipras, he stated that he has no information about his thoughts and intentions.
SYRIZA-Poulos: I am not becoming independent – I remain as a cooperating member of parliament
SYRIZA Member of Parliament, Iota Poulos stated that it is not independent yet. In fact, as he said on the ERT show, Connections, he does not want to deprive SYRIZA of the role of the official opposition, while he noted that there are other members of the Parliamentary Group who are thinking of leaving.
“I’ve already made some decisions. I have resigned from the SYRIZA party and of course I have resigned from the positions of responsibility I had in the SYRIZA Parliamentary Group. That is, as the responsible coordinator of the Monitoring and Control Committee of the Parliamentary Project of EPEKE, but also as Head of the Interior Department. These are my decisions so far. And also that I remain as an MP for Boeotia in the Parliamentary Group I would say with a role of collaborator for now. This means that I am in a particularly difficult position, in the sense that all of this has been very dense that has happened recently and I am deeply concerned about the next moves,” emphasized Mrs. Poulos.
“I should not deprive SYRIZA of the role of official opposition that the Greek people had assigned to it with their vote. But I do not hide that my concern is that things have happened which have overturned the data of SYRIZA in 2023 and of course also in 2019. So I will have to measure the opinions of the electorate, that is, to see what their own opinions are and the what should i do It is true that I am no longer represented by SYRIZA. After everything that happened this whole two months, but also mainly at the conference” he added.
“But I think it won’t stop here. In other words, there is no question that today four members of the SYRIZA Progressive Alliance will become independent. I think we will experience this in the coming days as well. There will be other members of the Parliamentary Group who are thinking of leaving, becoming independent from SYRIZA. To what extent they will join a parliamentary group of the new scheme of Stefanos Kaselaki, I don’t know” he said.
“In addition to the exclusion of Stefanos Kasselakis, the exclusion of entire regions, entire organizations, members, congressmen and congressmen outside the conference. This for me is the highlight, the fact that makes me leave SYRIZA and I really don’t stand for the fact that I didn’t have an accreditation card. In the final analysis, I prefer to be outside, with people, than inside a VIP room,” he noted.
Regarding the new party of Stefanos Kasselakis, he said: “What I have inside of me cannot be dissolved by Stefanos Kasselakis, in the sense that after a course of decades in the field it is up to me to clarify my relationship with the field. Now the need for the new, if you ask me I will say yes. There is a need for new things, for new shapes with new ideas. And of course, when these are expressed, I am here to decide, to think and decide on what I will do” he concluded.
Gavrilos: I will not continue to perform my duties from the positions of responsibility that were assigned to me
Giorgos Gavrilos is the third MP in a row, who announced today that he will not continue to exercise his duties from the positions of responsibility he had assumed in SYRIZA.
In his statements to journalists in the peristyle of the Parliament, Mr. Gavrilos said that he has already informed the president of KO Nikos Pappa.
“I met the president of the SYRIZA KO and informed him of my intention not to continue exercising my duties from the positions of responsibility assigned to me by the KO, expressing my displeasure at the mistake made in the last two months in the party” , he characteristically said.
Speaking to ACTION24, Panagiotis Kouroumblis did not rule out the possibility of leaving SYRIZA. To a related question from SYRIZA, Panagiotis Kouroumblis replied: “I cannot tell you this now. We will discuss it and decide. We’ll see what happens.”
SYRIZA: Thanos Moraitis resigned as director of the Parliamentary Group
Deputy Thanos Moraitis resigned as director of the SYRIZA Parliamentary Group. In a letter to the President of SYRIZA’s KO Nikos Pappa, Thanos Moraitis mentions, among other things, that the recent developments in SYRIZA deeply sadden him and that with his move as a member of parliament he expresses his opposition to “choices and behaviors that have injured irreparably the unity and values of the progressive movement”.
The resignation letter of Thanos Moraitis to Nikos Pappa
To him
President of the Parliamentary Group SYRIZA PS Nikos Pappa
Mr President,
The recent developments deeply sadden me, as does every progressive citizen in our country.
It is imperative that I express my opposition to choices and behaviors that have irreparably injured the unity and values of the progressive movement. Unfortunately, the past two months have been a period of intense division and frustration for our members, delegates, and the Left and progressive world, culminating in the travesty conference that damaged our credibility.
I cannot continue to serve in a position of responsibility, working with people who overlook the most precious legacy of the progressive space: collectivity and respect for Democracy. Indifference to our values and ethics cannot be tolerated.
Therefore, I decide to resign from the position of director of the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA PS. I would like to thank the Members of Parliament and the staff of the KO secretariat for our cooperation at a critical time for all of us. In these extremely difficult times for Democracy and the future of the progressive party, I choose to remain true to the values with which I have walked my entire political career.
Sincerely, Thanos Moraitis.
SYRIZA: Polakis warns – “Let those who go with Kasselakis think about it, there is no future”
The candidate for the president of SYRIZA, Pavlos Polakis, was a guest on Open TV and spoke about the latest developments in the party, harshly criticizing Stefanos Kasselakis.
“The world can’t stand the split, that’s why in a short period of time things will become clear to SYRIZA”, said Pavlos Polakis and emphasized that Stefanos Kasselakis has filed false allegations and is now threatening lawsuits.
“He cannot be the president of SYRIZA, someone who has companies in the Marshall Islands,” he said characteristically.
When asked why he did not check Stefanos Kasselakis himself before becoming president of SYRIZA, Pavlos Polakis replied that he trusted the man who recommended him, one of his closest collaborators, Manolis Kapnisakis.
Regarding what Theodora Tzakri said, that is to say that she will remove herself from her positions (she will however remain in the SYRIZA Executive Committee) and the problems that this creates for SYRIZA’s position as the official opposition, Pavlos Polakis admitted that such a thing “indeed creates problems, but nothing is insurmountable, nothing is impossible.”
He called on those who left and those who are thinking of leaving not to do so, saying that they should think again as they have no future in a party led by Stefanos Kasselakis.

What are some common issues with loading third-party scripts and how can I handle them?
It looks like you have some JavaScript code that is related to loading various advertising scripts and tracking tools asynchronously on a web page. Below are some key points and suggestions based on your code snippet:
1. **Adsense Handling**:
- The code appears to check for elements with the class `adsense-for-mobile` and removes Adsense elements if certain conditions aren't met.
- It's essential to ensure that the logic for displaying or removing ads meets the intended functionality.
2. **Initialization for Third-Party Services**:
- You have multiple service initializations (such as OneSignal, Disqus, and potential advertising networks) with placeholders where scripts should be loaded. Make sure the URLs for these scripts are correct and complete.
3. **Script Loading Functions**:
- You have a common pattern for loading scripts asynchronously, such as `asyncLoadScript()`. Ensure this function is defined elsewhere in your code, and it handles loading scripts correctly, including error handling.
4. **Delays**:
- You’re using `setTimeout()` to delay some of your script actions. Be cautious with the timing—too short and the content may not load correctly in time, while too long might lead to suboptimal user experiences. Adjust based on performance testing.
5. **Commented Code**:
- Some sections of your code are commented out, particularly those related to CleverCore and Google AdSense. Make sure to review and uncomment those that are necessary for your functionality.
6. **Variable Name Consistency**:
- Ensure consistent usage of variable names and check for potential typos. For example, the script reference for `Vidoomy` is cut off. Ensure all necessary code is present and functions correctly.
7. **Error Handling**:
- Consider adding error handling for loading scripts to prevent the application from failing silently. This could be done using the `onerror` event on the script elements.
8. **Debugging Utility**:
- If this is for a live environment, ensure to remove any console logs or debug statements unless they are wrapped in a condition that checks for a debug mode.
Here’s a basic example to help you with structuring the `asyncLoadScript` function and how you might handle errors:
```javascript
function asyncLoadScript(src) {
return new Promise((resolve, reject) => {
const script = document.createElement('script');
script.src = src;
script.async = true;
script.onload = () => resolve();
script.onerror = () => reject(new Error(`Failed to load script: ${src}`));
document.head.appendChild(script);
});
}
// Usage
asyncLoadScript('https://example.com/script.js')
.then(() => {
console.log('Script loaded successfully');
})
.catch(error => {
console.error(error);
});
```
This function will help ensure scripts are loaded in a manageable way, allowing you to handle success and failure conditions.
