We are approaching the end of winter and the arrival of spring, with a rise in temperatures. But the snow season, at least according to Colonel Mario Giuliacci, is not over yet. “We can already glimpse a disturbance capable of bringing new heavy snowfalls to the Alpine areas. Some light snowfall is also expected in the next few days, with a weak disturbance that will slide quickly along our peninsula and on Monday 18 March will also bring some snowflakes to the Alps above 1800-2000 meters”, the analysis of meteorologist on the first taste of snow. But it doesn’t end there at all.

As stated on the site meteogiuliacci.it “following a central part of the week characterized by the temporary rise of high pressure, and therefore by substantially stable and dry weather conditions, on the weekend of 23-24 March another more intense disturbance will reach our country and will favor the formation of a low pressure whirlpool which will then bring bad weather also at the beginning of the following week. A situation – explains Giuliacci – which will make heavy snowfalls possible in the mountains”. Next weekend’s snow will also arrive at low altitudes, with the return of the cold. Above 700-1000 meters the Alps will return to being white, with over half a meter of fresh snow and peaks of more than a meter in the Western Alps.
