## Ukraine Under Drone Attack
**Anchor:** We’re following a developing story out of Ukraine tonight where the country has been under relentless attack from Russian drones. Joining us now to discuss the situation is military analyst, Dr. Sarah Jones. Dr. Jones, what can you tell us about the scale and scope of these attacks?
**Dr. Jones:** This is the latest in a string of nighttime drone barrages that have become sadly commonplace in Ukraine. According to reports, Ukraine’s air force has recorded over 110 Russian attack drones launched overnight into Monday morning. [[1](https://abcnews.go.com/International/russia-launches-110-attack-drones-ukraine-amid-high/story?id=116364454)]. We’re seeing drones entering Ukrainian airspace from multiple directions, including the south, northeast, and even the Black Sea. This indicates a coordinated and widespread assault.
**Anchor:** What areas of Ukraine seem to be targeted in these attacks?
**Dr. Jones:** The initial strikes targeted several regions, including Odessa, Kirovograd, Nikolaev, and Chernigov. The attacks spread geographically over several hours, eventually reaching the Kyiv region. This suggests a strategy aimed at wearing down Ukrainian defenses and causing widespread disruption.
**Anchor:** What’s the potential impact of these drone attacks on the Ukrainian people?
**Dr. Jones:** These attacks create a constant state of fear and insecurity for Ukrainians. The nightly barrages disrupt daily life, damage infrastructure, and tragically, also result in casualties. Beyond the immediate physical damage, this ongoing psychological toll is deeply concerning.
**Anchor:** Dr. Jones, thank you for sharing your expertise on this unfolding situation. We’ll continue to follow developments and bring you the latest updates.
