Filip Ugrinic is leaving FC Luzern and moving to the Young Boys. This is what the Central Swiss announce on Tuesday followingnoon. The transfer fee is not known. Silence has been agreed on the transfer modalities, the Lucerne company announced.
YB announces the transfer just a few minutes later. The Bernese announce that Ugrinic has signed until 2026.
“We would like to thank Filip for his commitment and his services over the past few years,” says FCL sports director Remo Meyer in the media release. “It has been our aim to continue to count on Filip’s services, but we accept his desire to make this move. It should also be noted that BSC YB was willing to meet the corresponding demands of FC Luzern.
Ugrinic says regarding the move to Bern: “It’s hard for me to leave my club, but I still want to take the next step in my career.” The midfielder is quoted as follows in the YB media release: “I am convinced that I am in the right place in Bern to be able to take the next steps in my career. I would like to help YB to build on the successes of recent years.”
And Christoph Spycher says: “It’s impressive how Filip Ugrinic has developed in recent years. We are delighted that one of the most desirable players in the Super League has chosen YB. (…) We are planning for him in an outside position in midfield, but thanks to his versatile skills he can also cause unpredictability in other positions.”
