As reported by the Daily Mail, Anne-Sofie Orkild Coyman and Freja Vennervald Sørensen had only recently graduated from high school when they began their thrilling journey across various continents.
After enjoying preliminary adventures in Italy and Hungary in 2023, they proceeded to explore Southeast Asia starting in September.
Earlier this month, they checked into Nana Backpackers in the vibrant and bustling town of Vang Vieng, Laos, a favorite hotspot for young travelers.
But the seemingly idyllic adventure turned dire after the friends consumed a cocktail suspected to contain harmful methanol. The once-hopeful young women ended up lying unconscious on the bathroom floor of their hostel.
Despite prompt medical attention, Anne-Sofie and Freja were already in a coma when they were rushed to the hospital and were pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Worried for their safety, a Belgian man they had planned to meet started a frantic search when he hadn’t heard from them for 72 hours. His concern escalated when he received a distressing message indicating that the Danes had been vomiting blood for over 13 hours.
