Skyhawks Soar Past Army West Point
Stonehill Takes Down Army For First Atlantic Hockey Win
The Stonehill Skyhawks etched their name into the record books, capturing their first ever NCAA Division I win against an Atlantic Hockey opponent, topping Army West Point 3-1 on Tuesday night at the Warrior Ice Arena.
The victory also marked Stonehill’s first two-game win streak on the season.
Graduate goaltender Connor Androlewicz was instrumental in the win, recording his sixth win of the season by denying the Black Knights repeatedly, making 33 saves and allowing only a single goal.
Stonehill came out strong, demonstrating dominance early on to secure victory. Sophomore Anthony Galante paced the Skyhawks’ offense, netting his ninth goal of the season, placing him tied for third in the nation for goals. Juniors Evan Orr, and freshman Zach Aben also chipped in offensively, finding the back of the net
The Skyhawks (6-11-0) return to action on Wednesday, December 4th when they host Alaska Anchorage at the Bridgewater Ice Arena.
