You mentioned earlier that efficiency is about more than just numbers. Can you elaborate on that?
“Absolutely. Efficiency is about creating meaningful change and improving people’s lives. It’s about delivering services in a way that is responsive, accessible, and equitable. I’m also interested in understanding the challenges they face and how we, as a central government, can better support them in their work.”
Lastly, Minister, what advice would you give to regional heads who want to improve efficiency but face challenges in their areas?
“It’s crucial to remember that change takes time, and it’s not always easy. But with a clear vision, bold leadership, and a commitment to engaging with your communities, it’s possible to make meaningful improvements. I would also encourage them to leverage technology and data to inform their decision-making and track their progress. And, of course, I’m here to support them in any way I can.”
