Moscow – Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Rybakov said that Russia is ready for high-level talks if the US is interested in ‘strategic stability’ in the context of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. However, a Putin-Biden summit is now unlikely.
Rybakov also stated that Russia has nothing to talk regarding with the US on the Ukraine issue. Top US and Russian officials are meeting in Cairo from December 29 to December 6 to discuss the issue of nuclear weapons.
Pope Francis has announced that he is ready to do anything to mediate the talks to end the Russia-Ukraine war. In an interview with an Italian newspaper, the Pope said that everyone should not give up hope and should put aside hatred and try for peace through negotiations.
At the same time, Russia has stepped up its offensive aimed at disrupting Ukraine’s energy supply and military systems. The attack is centered on Luhansk and Donetsk regions in eastern Ukraine. Heavy fighting continues here.
