On Saturday, Vienna’s rainbow parade will be moving across Vienna’s Ringstrasse for the 26th time to demonstrate for the rights of the LGBTQI community. After a year of the Corona-related break and the slimmed-down version without vehicles last year, the organizers are expecting around 200,000 participants once more this year. The rainbow parade is the highlight of Vienna Pride with dozens of events in the supporting program. But some Vienna Pride events will remain virtual in 2022. The next Pride Village on Rathausplatz, for example, is not scheduled to open until 2023.
