Salon-de-Provence: vaccination against papillomavirus will extend to all middle school students in the Salonais region”>Pays Salonais Hospital Reconstruction Takes Major Leaps Forward
A significant milestone has been reached in the long-awaited reconstruction project for the Pays Salonais hospital. After decades of discussion, the project has entered a critical phase.
On December 2nd, Marie Chardeau, the hospital director, officially signed the deed acquiring the Gabins land, a key piece of the puzzle. This pivotal moment marks the hospital’s official ownership of the land where the new facility will rise. With this hurdle cleared, few obstacles remain in the path of this vital public project.
This progress builds on the collaborative efforts of 20 mayors from the surrounding towns. Recognizing the urgency for a modernized healthcare center, they joined forces to address the overcrowding and maintenance challenges plaguing the current hospital.
Their collective action resulted in the joint purchase of 9.5 hectares of land, strategically located southwest of Salon-de-Provence. This urban, easily accessible land provides ample space for the new hospital and its vision for integrated healthcare.
Far from a stand-alone facility, this is envisioned as a true “Health Village.”
Plans include the relocation of the Vignoli clinic and the establishment of a comprehensive medical complex, with a hotel and nursing school incorporated into the design.
Adding further momentum to the project, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) released the first tranche of the Ségur de la Santé investment subsidy, a substantial grant of 11.1 million euros.
This injection of capital ensures the project’s financial stability, enabling the hospital to cover initial expenses and advance towards construction.
Next spring promises another exciting announcement: the unveiling of the selected architectural project, following a rigorous design competition. This will bring the vision for the future hospital into sharper focus, providing a glimpse into the innovative healthcare environment the Salonais region is on the verge of embracing.
