After a tumultuous few months, deathcore band Oceano has announced its final tour. The news comes following backlash from fans regarding Oceano’s participation in Attila’s “America’s Reject Tour” late last year. Vocalist Adam Warren announced the band’s withdrawal from the tour, citing fan pressure, and later revealed Oceano’s indefinite hiatus.
However, the drama surrounding Oceano doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon. Chris Gallien, an artist, recently took to Facebook, accusing Warren and Oceano of stealing his artwork for their latest tour advertisement. Gallien claimed his design was initially rejected, but he later discovered a strikingly similar, albeit modified, version used for the announcement.
Gallien shared:
“Ya,I’m not keeping my mouth shut. Don’t meet your heroes, thay’ll take advantage of you. That Oceano tour flyer that dropped yesterday was my work and I got zero credit for it.Straight up ‘hey, you can copy my homework, just change it up a little’.
I was told my flyer didn’t make the cut, and then see that my work was entirely ripped off and plagiarized.
With with that in mind, I’m not working with Adam or Oceano on anything moving forward. That’s the last time I do anything without upfront deposits and contracts. Even the big boys will play you.”
As of yet, Warren and Oceano have not publicly addressed Gallien’s accusations.
This latest controversy adds another layer to Oceano’s tumultuous recent history, raising questions about artistic integrity and professional conduct. While the band’s farewell tour promises a chance for fans to relive their music, it’s hard to ignore the shadow cast by these allegations. The situation underscores the importance of clarity, fair compensation, and ethical practices, particularly in creative collaborations.
Oceano’s story serves as a reminder for artists and fans alike: navigate collaborations with caution, ensure proper agreements are in place, and prioritize ethical conduct. While the band’s legacy remains, this recent saga leaves a lasting impact, highlighting the complexities of navigating the music industry.
