**Maria Rodriguez:** My heart breaks for the families of the victims. This is a devastating loss for our community, and it serves as a stark reminder of the work we still have ahead of us to create a safer city for everyone.
**Archyde:** These shootings eerily contrast with the positive trends in violence reduction seen in 2024. Manny were hopeful that the downward trajectory would continue into the new year. What message do these events send to New Yorkers?

**Archyde:** What steps do you believe are most critical in tackling the complex issue of gun violence in our city Federation?
**Maria Rodriguez:** It’s a multi-pronged approach. We need stricter gun control measures, better mental health resources, and a focus on addressing socio-economic inequalities that contribute to violence. we also need to empower communities to be part of the solution, fostering trust between residents and law enforcement.
