Maura Lanigan (nee McGinn), formerly of Paulstown and residing at 7 Rosemount, Newpark Drive, Kilkenny, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, at St. LukeS Hospital. Her passing marks the end of a life cherished by many. She was surrounded by the dedicated Doctors, Nurses and Staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, where she received extraordinary care.
A Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother
Maura was the beloved wife of Liam and a devoted mother to Niall and Aoife. Her memory will be treasured by her sisters Betty and Rita, her daughter-in-law Fiona, and her grandchildren Conor, Doireann, Ciara, and Darragh. She also leaves behind a loving extended family, including her brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and friends.
Predeceased Family
She was predeceased by her parents, thomas and Margaret, and her sisters, Lucy and Sheila.
Funeral Arrangements
The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate Maura’s life.
- Reposing: Johnston’s Funeral Home, John’s green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Monday, March 3, from 4:30 p.m.
- Funeral Prayers: 6:15 p.m. on Monday, March 3, followed by removal to St. John’s Church.
- Requiem Mass: Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Church. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed Memorial donations
The family requests “family flowers only.” Those wishing to honor Maura’s memory are invited to make donations to the friends of St. Luke’s, Kilkenny. A donation box will be available at both the Church and Funeral Home.
