Financial assistance Available for Households Impacted by the Palisades Fires

The Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA) is set to launch the LA County Household Relief Grant program as a lifeline for individuals and families who suffered losses due to the recent Eaton and Palisades fires. This program aims to provide much-needed financial support to help fire victims recover and rebuild their lives.

Eligibility & Assistance

Opening on February 26, 2025, the grant application period will remain open until March 12, 2025. Eligible households can apply for up to $18,000 in financial assistance, with the amount determined by household size and composition. A total of $32.2 million will be distributed to wildfire survivors to help cover essential expenses like housing, living costs, and funeral expenses.

“Priority will be given to the most impacted households based on need, including insurance status, social and economic vulnerability, loss of life, health conditions, and other risk factors,” officials stated.

Additional Support through Relief Funds

Beyond the Household Relief Grant program,the Department of Economic Chance has established two fire relief funds offering direct cash assistance grants. Thes funds are available to both small businesses and individuals affected by the fires.

Small Businesses/Nonprofits Fund

This fund provides financial assistance to small businesses and nonprofit organizations that experienced damage to their structures, equipment, or inventory, and also those who saw a decline in revenue due to the fires.

Workers Fund

The workers fund offers financial support to employees who lost income or employment as a direct result of the disaster. This includes individuals who worked in the affected areas but reside elsewhere.
