Bethlehem, Pa. – In a decisive victory at Stabler arena, top-seeded Lehigh (27-5, 15-3 PL) overpowered No. 2 Army West Point (24-6, 14-4 PL) to secure the 2025 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Women’s Basketball title. The Mountain Hawks now advance to the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship.

Coach Micir: Thank you! It’s truly an honor.This victory is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every player on this team. They poured their hearts out all season, and seeing it culminate in a championship is incredibly rewarding.

Archyde: Army West Point came out strong in the beginning. what adjustments did you make to swing the momentum in Lehigh’s favor?
Coach Micir: Army is a tough, well-coached team. We knew they’d come out firing. We focused on tightening up our defence, especially limiting Camryn Tade’s impact, and staying patient on offense. Once we settled in and started executing our game plan, things began to click.

Archyde: Maddie Albrecht earned the Championship MVP title with a double-double performance. How crucial was she to the team’s success this season and especially in this game?
Coach Micir: Maddie has been a rock for us all season. Her leadership, her rebounding, and her scoring are invaluable. In the championship game, she stepped up big when we needed her most. earning MVP is a well-deserved recognition of her contributions.
