KPK Seeks Rp 31.17 Billion from Former Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya Director

Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has demanded former President Director of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya, Yoory Corneles Pinontoan, reimburse Rp 31.17 billion in alleged funds misappropriated in a

corruption case.

KPK prosecutors presented this demand during Yoory C Corneles’ ongoing trial at the Corruption Court of the Central Jakarta District Court on December 2nd, 2024.

They have called upon the panel of judges to order Yoory to repay the full amount. “Imposing additional criminal penalty

of replacement money amounting

to Rp 31,175,089,000,” stated the KPK Public Prosecutor during the proceedings.

Prosecutors have stipulated a one-month period following the court’s final and binding decision for Yoory to repay the money. Failure to comply will result in the KPK auctioning off his seized assets to recover the lost funds.

“Should the assets prove insufficient to cover the replacement money, a 3-year

prison sentence will substitute,” stated the prosecutor to the judge.

In addition, the Prosecutor’s office requested a sentence of imprisonment and a fine for

Yoory.

“We request the imposition of a 5-year prison sentence and a fine of Rp300 million,

substituting with 6 months imprisonment if the fine is not paid,” said the KPK prosecutor

during the trial.

The KPK’s assessment conclusively found Yoory

C Pinontoan, the

former President Director of Sarana

Jaya, guilty of participation in committing

acts of corruption, resulting in state financial losses, – a violation outlined in Article 2 paragraph (1),

conjoined with Article 18 of the Corruption

Eradication Law (UU Tipikor).

Currently, Yoory is incarcerated

at the Sukamiskin Penitentiary

in Bandung, West Java. His detention stems from a previous conviction

in a separate

corruption case involving the acquisition of land for the

zero DP housing project

in Munjul, East Jakarta. In this previous case, Yoory was found guilty and sentenced to

six years and six months imprisonment

for causing state financial losses amounting to Rp 152.5 billion.
