Not NPC – but CPC using AI: “Have created Zois who can act individually”

With spectacular AI tools and Nvidia in the back, “Inzoi” has been created.

The South Korean studio Krafton, behind the popular Battle Royale game “Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds”, has made its own life simulator.

The game is called “Inzoi”. It has developed in just two years and the ambitions are soaring.

The player becomes God

If you refer to the developer’s own description, it should “allow the player to become a God who can control and alternate the whole world”.

The character creator, according to many, the most important part of this type of game, has been hailed by many who tested this during a short phase last summer.

The span goes from babies to seniors, from fun-freer Cartoon characters to realistic celebrities-for that matter one’s self.

AI is used in several places, such as a generative one that allows one to create and alternate items in the game along text commands.

Recently, Krafton also announced a partnership with the giant Nvidia. They then presented AI-powered so-called “co-playable characters”.

In short, then AI co-players (in this case ZOIS) should use a small language model to better adapt to situations and react to them according to how they have been affected by their experiences from the day. PUBG will also use the technology, especially for commands.

“Traditionally, NPC: SI video games have used a team-based system where their behavior has been completely script-based and predictable,” writes Hyungjun Kim, Game Director for Inzoi, in the game’s Discord channel.

“By implementing this AI in their behavior, we have created Zois that can act individually. It not only makes their actions more natural, it also adds a more deeply engrossing element throughout the zoi experience ”.

Alex: Absolutely. The Unreal Engine 5 allows us to create ultra-realistic character models and detailed environments. This not only makes the game visually stunning but also helps players read the landscape better, providing tactical advantages.
