Helvetia Campus to Become Eurovision Party Hub
Basel is gearing up for Eurovision 2025, and Helvetia Insurance is throwing its hat — or should we say, its party hat — into the ring. Not only is the company stepping up as the national sponsor of the event, but it’s also opening its doors to the Eurovision community by transforming its Basel Campus into a “Party Mile” during the festivities in May 2025.
“We are proud to be making our contribution to an unforgettable folk festival in the city,” said Martin Jara, CEO Helvetia Switzerland. “A festival that shows beyond the borders of Basel and Switzerland that tolerance, diversity and cultural exchange between different cultures are of central importance. Especially for us as an internationally oriented company.”
Located conveniently along the path from St. Jakobshalle, the Eurovision venue, to Basel’s city center, the Helvetia Campus is primed to be the ultimate Eurovision hangout. The company’s commitment reflects its aim to create a unique and inclusive experience for fans and participants alike.
A Tale of Two Headquarters
While the headquarters of the Helvetia Group reside in St. Gallen, the Basel campus holds a special significance. This site was once the headquarters of National Versicherung, which merged with Helvetia in 2014. Following the merger, the Basel headquarters underwent a complete transformation, spearheaded by renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron. This impressive redesign gave birth to the modern and vibrant Helvetia Campus we see today.
How does Helvetia plan to ensure that the Eurovision Party Hub remains true to the spirit of the event while also promoting their brand?
**Interviewer:** Joining us today is Martin Jara, CEO of Helvetia Switzerland, to tell us about the exciting news that Helvetia Campus will be transformed into a Eurovision Party Hub during the 2025 festivities. Martin, welcome to the show.
**Martin Jara:** Thank you for having me.
**Interviewer:** This is a fantastic initiative, and clearly shows Helvetia’s commitment to making Eurovision 2025 a truly unforgettable event. The location, right on the path between the venue and the city center, seems perfect. Why was it important for Helvetia to not only be a national sponsor but also create this dedicated “Party Mile”?
**Martin Jara:** As a company rooted in Basel, we believe in contributing to the vibrancy of our city. Eurovision is a celebration of diversity, music and shared experiences. We saw an opportunity to not only support the event financially, but also create a welcoming space for fans, artists, and the local community to connect and revel in the Eurovision spirit. Our campus redesign by Herzog & de Meuron provides the perfect backdrop for this unique celebration.
**Interviewer:** That’s a wonderful sentiment. Do you think using a corporate space like the Helvetia Campus for this purpose will resonate with the general public, especially those who are passionate about Eurovision? Some might argue that Eurovision is about celebrating artistry and performance, not corporate branding. How would you respond to that?
