Harvey-Pinard Eyes Montreal Return After Injury Setback

After a frustrating season marred by injury, forward Jesse Harvey-Pinard is determined to make his mark with the Montreal Canadiens. However, the 25-year-old’s path back to the NHL is still paved with challenges.

A broken leg suffered in July sidelined Harvey-Pinard for the start of the season. Following surgery and a period of rehabilitation, he finally joined the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket, on a long-term injury conditioning loan in mid-November.

Slow Start in Laval

While in Laval, Harvey-Pinard struggled to find his rhythm, managing just one goal and a minus-4 rating in five games.

A History of Resilience

The 2019 sixth-round draft pick (201st overall) is no stranger to adversity. Last season, he was limited to just 45 games due to separate lower-body injuries, registering two goals and 10 points. Despite the setbacks, he has shown flashes of potential during his time in Montreal, amassing 17 goals and 14 assists for 31 points in 83 career NHL contests.

The Saguenay, Quebec native is hoping to capitalize on those glimpses of promise and carve out a more consistent role within the Canadiens’ organization.
