maternity after Forty: Challenging Taboos and Societal Norms
Třeštíková’s announcement challenges conventional timelines for motherhood, sparking broader conversations about women’s reproductive choices. Her journey highlights the increasing number of women who are choosing to have children later in life, driven by factors such as career aspirations, financial stability, and personal readiness. A recent study published in the Journal of Advanced Maternal and child Health indicated a steady rise in first-time mothers over the age of 40 in developed countries over the past two decades.
Třeštíková comes from a close-knit family. “No wonder she wanted to establish her own family, which woudl be a harbor for her. Just as she saw in her childhood.”
Addressing the challenges, Třeštíková shared, “Probably it’s time to go out with the truth. I did not overdo it with sugar or I do not hold dry February. I’m waiting for a baby.” She also added,”It was a long and challenging journey, full of failures, slumps, but also hope and belief in a good end.”
IVF and Open dialogue: Breaking the silence
Třeštíková’s announcement is particularly important because she openly discussed her experience with In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), a topic often shrouded in secrecy and stigma. By sharing her journey, she hopes to encourage other women to speak openly about their own experiences with fertility treatments, fostering a supportive community and destigmatizing the process.
“I am full and I met a lot of girls who experienced the same thing, but they prefer not to ventilate it. And while sharing the good ends is exactly what gave me the greatest hope and the courage to continue,” she wrote, emphasizing the importance of sharing experiences and finding strength in community.
The Father and the Future: A Modern Family Concept
Adding another layer to the narrative,Třeštíková revealed that while she is in a loving relationship with the child’s father, they do not adhere to a “traditional concept” of a couple. She emphasized their commitment to providing the best possible environment for their child. “She wants to stay anonymous, but he’s my very close person with whom we love. Even though we do not create a couple in a traditional concept, but I am sure that we will prepare the best conditions for a beautiful life together and we will be good partners,” she stated.
Redefining Age and Vitality: A Shift in Outlook
Třeštíková’s pregnancy challenges societal perceptions of age and motherhood. As she approaches her 43rd birthday, she rejects the notion that age is a limiting factor. A study by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine suggests that while fertility does decline with age, many women over 40 can still have healthy pregnancies with the help of assisted reproductive technologies.
Třeštíková asserts, “Today’s girls are frequently enough more vital and healthier than our ancestors at thirty. The company moves in this, we live healthier, we
