GOOD Christmas is a celebration of joy, love and of course also of giving. A group of young women from the dyer’s community combine this with donations for a charitable cause.
For more than ten years the girls have been “pawing” each other. “That means we draw a card with a friend’s name on it and give her a gift at the Christmas party. Many people know this custom and practice it themselves. The special thing regarding our Wichteln, however, is that for two years we have not been delighted with material gifts, but rather with donations for a charitable cause, ”explains Isabella Pühringer.
Giving pleasure and helping at the same time
“Each of us can decide for ourselves where the donation should go and the elf will transfer an amount between 20 and 50 euros to the desired institution.” This year, for example, the “Kindertraum Foundation”, an animal shelter or a family in Vorderweissenbach benefited from it. “So giving really makes sense, because you bring joy and also support a charitable cause,” the young women agree.
