letterkenny, Donegal – Eileen Powell, formerly of Gartan, Churchill, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the Donegal Hospice Letterkenny.

Remembering Eileen Powell

Eileen Powell, residing at 6 Bracken Lea, Mountain Top, Letterkenny, F92ATD6, will be fondly remembered for her warmth and kindness. Her passing marks a important loss for her family and the wider community of donegal.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bruce, in 2017, her father, George, in 2003, and her mother, Ellen, in 2016.

Eileen is “Sadly missed by brothers Seamus (Frances), Benny (Deirdre), sister Marian (PJ), best freind Louise Duffy and good neighbor Dymphna Byrne.”

She is also “Fondly remembered by aunties Kate Doohan and Vonnie Gallagher, nieces, nephews, their partners & grand nieces & extended family members.”

Funeral Arrangements

Removal took place on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 5 p.m. from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest to her late residence.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at St. Columba’s Church, Glendowan, with requiem mass at 11 a.m., followed by interment in Gartan cemetery.

The family has requested “Family time only please from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.”

Her family, both immediate and extended, along with close friends like her good neighbor Dymphna Byrne, provided her with immense joy and support, especially after Bruce’s passing in 2017.
