Sarah widyanto: Dul, thank you for taking the time to speak with Archyde News, especially during this holy month of Ramadan. You recently participated in a social event with orphans and shared some incredibly powerful reflections. Could you elaborate on what prompted these thoughts and feelings?
Dul Jaelani: Thank you for having me, Sarah. Ramadan is always a time of reflection, and being with those children, especially orphans, really brought into focus the importance of gratitude. I’ve learned so much from my own experiences, both good and bad, and I felt compelled to share some of those lessons.

Sarah widyanto: You’ve spoken quite openly about the car accident you experienced in 2013. That was a life-altering event. How has that experience shaped your perspective on life and fueled your commitment to helping others?
Dul Jaelani: That accident was a profound turning point. It was tragic, and it deeply impacted many lives. It taught me the fragility of life and the importance of appreciating every moment. It also highlighted the strength of family and the power of resilience. Seeing the support my parents gave me, and knowing that others were not so fortunate, motivated me to stay in touch with the families impacted by the accident and offer what support I can.
Gratitude in a Noisy world: How to Cultivate Thankfulness Daily
Sarah Widyanto: In today’s world, with the constant distractions of technology, it’s easy to lose sight of the simple blessings. What advice would you give to someone struggling to cultivate gratitude in such a noisy environment?
Dul Jaelani: I think it’s about being mindful and consciously choosing to focus on the good. Put the phone down for a bit each day. Remind yourself of the things you have – your health, your family, a roof over your head. Even the smallest things can bring joy if we allow them to. It’s a practice, like any other skill. Start small, and make it a daily habit.

sarah Widyanto: Dul, what is one piece of wisdom you’d like readers to take away from your experience?
Dul Jaelani: Life will throw curveballs. There will be joyful times and difficult times. The key is to embrace the lessons, remain grateful for the blessings, and always strive to connect with and support others, especially those in need. And during Ramadan, remember to reflect and appreciate all you have.
