Doorman Stabbed While Helping Disabled Person in New York: Shocking Incident Revealed

A New York doorman was stabbed inches from the jugular following he intervened to help a disabled person who was being followed by a man in an unstable condition, according to the “New York Post”.

Brian Smith was helping the disabled tenant into a building on 72nd Street at 3 a.m. on June 25 when a masked man dressed in black showed up to ask where the subway was.

The latter would have followed the person in a wheelchair before she entered the building. The man then brandished a knife before stabbing the doorman from the nose to the cheek.

Although he was bleeding profusely, Brian Smith was able to get away to call 911. The assailant meanwhile fled.

The police responded, as did building manager Pedro Ramos.

“I have never seen so much blood in my life,” Ramos said.

Brian Smith was rushed to a hospital. He needed over 20 stitches to close the nine-inch gash.

“They had to sew up an artery,” said the principal, who had recently won his battle once morest cancer.

Smith recently returned to work. The doorman, however, told the daily that he consults a psychologist.

The New York City Police Department made no arrests.
