Does excess weight affect men’s sexual health? .. A doctor answers • Al Marsad Newspaper

Al Marsad Newspaper: A medical study showed the positive effect of weight loss for men on fertility and their sexual health.

According to the study, the results of which were published in the journal Human Reproduction, if men lose kilograms of weight, their sperm count increases.

The assistant professor and director of the male infertility program at New York University Langone Health, Bobby Ngari, said that the weight loss in 8 weeks was accompanied by an increase in the number of sperms, an increase in their concentration and density by 49%.

For her part, researcher Sen Sorensen Torecoff, professor of biomedical sciences at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, stated that losing weight and maintaining an ideal weight have a profound effect on increasing sperm count.

“Excess adipose tissue can promote the conversion of testosterone into estrogen, and it has been shown that obese men have lower testosterone levels than thin men,” she noted.
