Disneyland is set to celebrate its 70th anniversary in grand style, beginning mid-May and continuing through summer 2026. Simultaneously, Disney’s California Adventure is expanding with new Marvel and pixar-themed attractions.

the festivities for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, themed “Celebrate happy,” will start on May 16, two months ahead of the actual anniversary on July 17, 1955. The celebration will last for over a year, concluding in Summer 2026.

New events include a Mickey and Friends cavalcade featuring Duffy and ShellieMay. The “It’s a Small World” ride will feature a projection show called “Tapestry of Happiness,” and Miguel and Dante from Coco will be added to the ride.

Additionally, Carthay circle will host a projection show and Mickey and friends will sport new outfits. Joy from Inside Out will host the new World of Color show, with other Emotions showcasing memorable scenes from Pixar and Disney movies like The Incredibles and Encanto. The esplanade will feature a 50-foot sculpture of Sleeping Beauty Castle, and decorations will extend throughout Downtown Disney, Main Street USA, and Disney’s hotels. Even the Toy Story Midway Mania ride will see anniversary decor.

The Paint the Night parade,Pixar Pals parade,and Wondrous Journeys fireworks show will also make a return for the anniversary.

July 17 Anniversary Day Specials

On July 17, Disneyland will debut “a new verse for It’s A Small World,” and a three-minute film titled “The Last Verse” in the Main Street cinema. The film celebrates the Sherman Brothers. A new gallery exhibition in the Opera House on Main Street USA will showcase previously unseen images and artifacts from Disneyland’s advancement, including Walt Disney’s rocking chair, lamp, table, his 1955 Emmy award, and his 1964 Presidential Medal of freedom.

The first ever audio-animatronic figure of Walt Disney will premiere as part of the “Walt disney: A Magical Life” show inside the Main Street Opera House.

Ticket Pricing for the 70th Anniversary

From May 16 to Aug. 14, 2025, visitors can purchase tickets as part of the Disneyland Anniversary Ticket Offer. A three-day, one-park-per-day ticket will cost $360, while a four-day, one-park-per-day ticket will be $400.

Avengers Campus Expansion at California Adventure

Disney’s California Adventure will expand its Avengers Campus with two new Marvel attractions. The Avengers Campus will double in size to accommodate these new additions.

The immersive world of Pandora is expanding from Disney World’s Animal Kingdom to California Adventure in Anaheim. A highlight of this expansion is a new ride that simulates a journey through the Monsters, Inc. laugh factory aboard one of the doors to the human world. This suspended roller coaster promises a unique experience. According to Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro,”the first time I saw Monsters,inc., all I wanted to do was ride on one of those doors like Mike and Sulley. You’ll go into the factory and experience the first suspended coaster ever in a Disney park… We’re doing that, too. And you’re going along for the ride.”

MuppetVision 3D will close permanently on June 8, paving the way for construction to begin later in 2025. A closing date for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has not yet been announced.

Animal Kingdom’s Tropical Americas Land

Disney Cruise Line Expands Its Fleet
