The close-knit community of ardgroom, in county cork, Ireland, is deeply saddened by the passing of Joe Feeley, who died peacefully on February 12, 2025, at Bantry General Hospital’s palliative care unit, surrounded by his loving family.Joe, a cherished husband to Sheila (née O’Shea), was a devoted father to five children: Gary, Carmel, John, Andrew, and Ciara. He was also a doting grandfather to nine grandchildren: Lily-Rose, Lewis, Emma, Seán, Jacob, Noah, Gianna, Cillian, and Adam. His warmth, infectious laughter, and kindness left an enduring mark on everyone who knew him.
joe was predeceased by his parents, Johnny and Mary, and his brother Brendan. He is survived by his beloved wife Sheila, his five children, his nine grandchildren, his siblings Maureen, Frank, Bridie, Kathleen, hubert, Willie, and Margaret, along with countless friends and neighbors who shared in his life.
Reposing and Funeral Arrangements
Joe’s remains will repose at harrington’s Funeral Home in Castletownbere on Friday, February 14th, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Following the repose, his remains will be privately removed to his residence. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday,February 15th,at 11:30 am in the Church of the Resurrection,Ardgroom,followed by interment in Gortnabulliga Cemetery. The funeral cortege will depart from Joe’s residence at approximately 11:00 am.
Remembering Joe: A Life Dedicated to Family and Community
The family requests, in lieu of floral tributes, donations be made to Bantry palliative Care, as a way to honor Joe’s final wish to support those nearing the end of their lives. A heartfelt message of sympathy can be expressed on the online condolence page dedicated to Joe’s memory.

Joe Feeley, a beloved member of the Ardgroom community, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025. to honor his memory and celebrate his life, we spoke with his longtime friend and neighbor, Mary O’Connell, who shared cherished memories of Joe.
A Heart of Gold
“Joe was the kindest soul you could ever meet. He had this infectious laugh that could brighten even the gloomiest day. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it was fixing a fence, offering a listening ear, or simply sharing a cup of tea and a good story,”
remarked Mary.
Family Man Thru and Through
Joe was known for his devotion to his family. “Joe was a devoted husband to Sheila, and thay were a true exmaple of love and companionship. He adored his children and grandchildren,and they were the center of his world. He loved nothing more than spending time with them, whether it was attending their sporting events, helping with homework, or simply enjoying a family meal together,”

A Legacy of Kindness
“I’ll miss his warm smile, his genuine kindness, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. He had a way of making you feel like you were the moast important person in the room. The world is a little less luminous without him in it,”
