A ‘Surprisingly Modest’ Manifesto
During his Wednesday monologue, commentator Kosta dissected a recent manifesto, calling it “surprisingly modest.” He highlighted a particular line that caught his attention: “the US has the number one most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly number 42 in life expectancy.”
A Unique Tone
Kosta found the wording of the manifesto particularly striking. He read aloud a passage where the author wrote, “ Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument.” Kosta couldn’t help but make light of the admission, saying, “‘I don’t really know what I’m talking about’ is a surprising thing to put in a manifesto.”
He went on to joke, “This is the first murder manifesto I’ve read that could’ve ended with, ‘But no worries, if not, you know, either way.’ You never see the Taliban like ‘Death to America, although, we’re not experts so grain of salt.’”
He concluded his segment by encouraging viewers to watch the full monologue for further commentary.
