A. G. Cook Named Producer of the Year at BRIT Awards 2025

London, 2025-02-25 – The BRIT Awards have announced Alexander Guy Cook, known as A. G. cook, as the Producer of the Year for 2025.The ceremony is slated for March 1 at The O2 in London, with Jack Whitehall hosting the event broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX.

A. G. Cook’s Impact on Music

Cook’s recognition is significantly attributed too his collaboration with Charli XCX on her 2024 album, ‘Brat,’ which is also nominated for Album Of The Year. Beyond his work with Charli XCX, Cook’s solo album, ‘Britpop,’ released last year, received critical acclaim. His influence extends to the founding of the London-based label PC Music in 2013, which has shaped contemporary pop and electronic music.

Damian Christian, managing Director and President of Promotions at Atlantic records and Chair of the BRIT Committee for 2025, stated, “What a year A.G. Cook has had – from his expansive solo record ‘Britpop’ to the world-beating ‘Brat’, he has pushed the boundaries and delivered astonishing music.” Christian further added, “He is a true creative and has worked with the world’s biggest artists – always getting the best out of them and helping them evolve their sound. Congratulations to A. G. on being crowned the 2025 Producer Of The Year.”

Upon receiving the award, Cook expressed, “As someone who’s always felt like a bit of an outsider, I’m very flattered to be recognised by The BRITs.” He also reflected on his career, stating, “From the early PC music days to the Charli mixtapes and beyond, I’ve been lucky to work on so much music that I truly believe in.” Highlighting his dedication, Cook added, “In particular, I’d like to dedicate this moment to SOPHIE, whose vision and artistry is still a driving force for producers everywhere.”

A. G. Cook joins a list of esteemed producers who have previously received the honor, including chase & Status, David Guetta, Fred Again.., and Calvin Harris. This year’s BRITs also coincide with BRITs Week 2025, featuring performances by Kasabian, James Bay, and soft Play, among others. Sam Fender and Lola Young have been announced as the final performers for the BRITs ceremony itself.

Archyde News: The influence of PC Music,which you founded in 2013,is still deeply felt in contemporary pop and electronic music. How has overseeing this collective shaped your perspective as a producer?

A.G. Cook: Founding PC Music was a monumental experience for me. It allowed me to develop my taste and aesthetic, and to work with a diverse range of artists. being part of a collective has always been vital to me – it’s about fostering a community of creatives where everyone can learn and grow together.

A.G. Cook: SOPHIE was a trailblazer, consistently challenging norms and pushing the boundaries of production. Her bold and innovative approach to music continues to Inspire me and many others. This award is as much hers as it is indeed mine, and I’m honored to dedicate it to her memory.
