North Lawndale, Chicago – Young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 in Chicago are invited to explore career training and job opportunities at the Craft Your Path program open house on Wednesday, March 5, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event, hosted by the North Lawndale Employment Network (NLEN) at 1111 S. Homan Avenue, aims to connect young people with resources for economic advancement.

The Craft Your Path program offers job skills training, paid work experiences, coaching, and support for individuals aged 18 to 24. Upon successful completion, participants recieve an $8,000 grant to further their education and career training in high-demand sectors such as technology, healthcare, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, and construction.
“Investing in our young people is critically critically important so our future generations can find great careers that will allow them to support families and build intergenerational wealth,” says Khelan Todd, NLEN’s Chief Impact and Innovation Officer.”Many of the young people we engage with don’t know what they want to do for a career or need flexible options. Craft Your Path is the perfect fit for young adults wanting to take that first step and receive versatility and support every step of the way.” The program aims to provides flexibility and support, offering paths to overcome career uncertainty.

Attendees can enroll on the spot, streamlining the application process. “If you are 18 to 24 years old and you want to sign up, bring a valid Photo ID and Social Security card and our staff can sign you right up at the event” says Todd. NLEN staff and program graduates will be available to answer questions and offer insights.
