Local Blood Donors Hold Successful Collection Drive and Raise Awareness at Holiday Market

The dedicated team of volunteer blood donors in our community recently hosted a successful collection drive, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to saving lives. Chaired by Françoise Laureaux, the association continues to make a significant impact, even amidst a cautious period for the blood donation sector.

Steady Turnout for Vital Collection

The final collection of the year took place on Thursday, November 28, at the village hall. Under the expert guidance of Rachel Gilard, supervisory nurse of the French Blood Establishment of Chaumont, and her friendly team, the event saw consistent attendance. Despite a cautious climate in the sector, 50 individuals made the effort to donate, with 41 ultimately deemed eligible.

Looking ahead, the association has already finalized its collection schedule for 2025. Mark your calendars for the following dates, always on Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: January 30, March 27, June 5, July 31, September 25, and November 27.

Holiday Market Brings Awareness and Support

Beyond their collection drives, the association actively seeks to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation. They recently took part in the merchants’ association Christmas market held at Clocheton on November 30 and December 1. Their beautifully decorated stand was a testament to their dedication and provided an opportunity to engage with the community.

Many kind individuals contributed homemade cakes, showcasing the community’s generosity. These delicious treats, greatly appreciated by the team, were sold in support of the Telethon. The stand also featured sweets offered by the Casino and puzzles provided by Secours populaire.
