Mirra Andreyevova: Thank you. I think what made the difference was my ability to keep my composure under pressure. I’ve always had the game to compete with the best, but it was my mental toughness that really shone in Dubai.

Archyde: At just 17, you’ve become the youngest WTA champion in Dubai and the first Russian winner sence Indian Wells 2017.how does it feel to make history?
Mirra Andreyevova: It’s incredibly surreal. I’ve always dreamed of making my mark on the WTA tour, but to do it so early in my career is just disbelief. I’m so grateful for all the support from my team and fans who’ve helped me get here.
From Debutant to Top 10
Archyde: You’ll debut in the top 10 on Monday, becoming the youngest player there since Nicole Vaidesova in 2007. How does it feel to accomplish this incredible milestone so early in your career?
Mirra Andreyevova: It’s definitely a confidence boost. To know that I can compete and win against the best in the world is an incredible feeling.But I also know that this is just the beginning, and there’s still so much work to be done.

Archyde: What’s next for Mirra Andreyevova? Any specific goals or tournaments you’re looking forward to?
Mirra Andreyevova: I’m really excited for the upcoming tournaments in the US. I’ve never played in Indian Wells, and I’m eager to experience that.But for now, I’m just taking it one match at a time and enjoying this victory.
