American Airlines (AA) is bolstering its presence in the New York market by adding two new routes departing from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in Summer 2025. These new services will connect New York City to popular leisure destinations including Myrtle Beach and Charleston, tapping into the growing demand for travel.

New york LaGuardia to Myrtle Beach
Beginning June 14th, 2025, American Airlines will offer seasonal Saturday-only flights between LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR).This new route will cater to travelers seeking a weekend getaway to the renowned coastal destination.
The inaugural flight will depart LGA at 9:00 AM, arriving in myrtle Beach at 11:04 AM, with a total flight duration of 2 hours and 4 minutes. The introduction of this new service aligns strategically with the peak summer travel period.
New York LaGuardia to Charleston
American Airlines is also reviving its LaGuardia to Charleston (CHS) route, offering twice-weekly flights starting June 2025. This route marks the service’s return since its suspension during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, Delta Air Lines dominates the LaGuardia to Charleston market with 68% market share as of September 2024, followed by Spirit Airlines at 16% and JetBlue at 8%. American Airlines’ reintroduction will inject new competition into this consolidated market.
