Now, in an Instagram question and answer session, Adnan Sheikh bluntly said that his wife is a Muslim and there is no scope for intercaste marriage in Islam. And children born from such marriages are not valid.
According to Indian media, Adnan Sheikh’s wife hid her face during the wedding and after that, Adnan’s sister Efat accused her that Adnan had married a Hindu girl, Ridhi Radio. Ifat also said that Ridhi has now accepted Islam and she was already married to Adnan.
Ifat had also posted pictures of Ayesha and her family on her Instagram and according to Indian media reports, Indigo had tagged Ayesha’s name as Ridhijahu while posting Ayesha’s picture.
Now Adnan Sheikh had an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram. In this session, a person asked him whether his wife is a Hindu. In response, Adnan said that his wife is a Muslim and inter-caste marriage is not possible among Muslims and those who commit inter-caste marriages are illegitimate and their children are also illegitimate.

How might Adnaan’s decision to marry Ayesha, despite conflicting accounts of her religious background, be interpreted by different segments of society, and what does this reveal about societal views on interfaith relationships?
GOVIND: Welcome back to the show, everyone. Today, we’re discussing a recent controversy surrounding prominent YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 3 contestant Adnaan Shaikh. Adnaan recently tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Ayesha. However, the wedding has sparked heated debate due to conflicting claims about Ayesha’s religious background.
Joining me today is sociologist Dr. Ritika Sharma to shed some light on this complex issue. Dr. Sharma, thank you so much for being here.
DR. SHARMA: My pleasure. It’s a pleasure to be here.
GOVIND: Dr. Sharma, there are conflicting reports about Ayesha’s religious beliefs. Some sources claim she is Hindu, while Adnaan himself has stated that she is Muslim. What are your thoughts on this situation and how do you think it reflects on the current societal attitudes towards interfaith marriages?
DR. SHARMA: This situation raises several critical questions… Do you think it’s fair to publicly question someone’s faith, especially in the context of a personal commitment like marriage? Does Adnaan’s stance reflect a genuine commitment to his faith or is it driven by societal pressures? And most importantly, how does this impact our understanding of love and acceptance in a diverse society?
GOVIND: These are certainly thought-provoking questions.
