A Magical Christmas Soundtrack for Durbe Palace
Singer Zane Dombrovska is inviting everyone to share a magical Christmas journey steeped in music and light at Durbe Palace this December. “A Winter’s Tale”, a spellbinding program of cultural events and festivities, will light up the hearts and minds of those seeking holiday cheer. Zane, known for her enchanting voice, has created a special nine-minute musical composition for this event. One of the most surprising and catchy pieces is the festive song “Ziemas pasaka,” which is destined to become a new favorite holiday tune.
“We met Andris for the first time in the studio recording because previously we had only a small, joint collaboration in various concerts, but we both have a particularly sweet and fresh memory of the Latvian dubbing of the musical film ‘Wonka’ that took place a year ago, where Andris played the chocolate master Wonka, but I was invited to be the recording dubbing director. At that time, I woke up and went to bed with Andris’s voice in my ears,” Zane remembers with a smile. “That’s why when I started creating my “Winter’s Tale”, it was Andris’s voice that rang in my ear like a Christmas bell when I was choosing a vocal partner for this song,” explains Zane.
It was a perfect match for the song, ‘As every fairy tale has enchanted music, so every good story must have a beautiful song and beautiful performing. Andris’s voice is simply shining in this piece,’ suggests Zane about teamwork with Andris.
“Ziemas pasaka” is a testament to their successful collaboration.
A very special musical fate awaits the song, because it will be performed in the Durbe Palace courtyard in a truly magical way. One of Latvia’s leading lighting artists, Pavels Armanis (known for his work on the Song Festival in Mežaparka, national selection ‘Eurovision,’ “Laima Rendezvous” Music Festival, “Dancing with the Stars” shows, “X factor” and many more), has created a visual light production to accompany the song. This light show will decorate the palace courtyard every weekend in December, transforming the space into a captivating realm.
It’s important to note that the song is a fragment of a larger nine-minute composition and is an integral part of “Winter’s Tale,” the magnificent cultural program located at the Durbe Palace complex starting Arguably, the events commence on November 30th.
” The piece has many robust layers,” explains Zane, adding “The musical journey isn’t confined to this single song. Other prominent Latvia musicians have brought this vision into full auditory bloom, with Markus Skraucis contributing his cello talents to the Instrumental tracks for the light show, while Jānis Zvirgzdiņš, known professionally as Julian, brings his bass to “Ziemas pasaka,” further enhancing the warm Christmas spirit. A special thanks to Anna Klävere for helping with the lyrical composition and to Edgars Skrāgis for the song’s final mixing and mastering. Music truly has a way ‘
This year, the Tukuma Durbe Castle complex is preparing a magnificent winter celebration program.
“Winter’s Tale” will enchant guests with an illuminated palace courtyard, magical performances for children, cozy concert programs featuring renowned artists like Aija Vītoliņa, Jānis Lūsēna, Daumanta Kalniņa, Annija Putniņa, and Ugi Rozi, who will all share the festive spirit.
“Winter’s magic wouldn’t be complete without delicious treats. A Christmas market, offering unique gifts and a cozy “Sweet House”, will be set up. Visitors can also enjoy gnome workshops곳 and a charming visit with Grandpa Christmas himself.
Tickets for “Winter’s Tale” can be purchased in the “Bilešu paradīze” network.
