Spartans Set to Battle Mountain West Foes
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West Conference has released the 2025 volleyball schedule, outlining San josé State’s path thru the season. The Spartans are set to face every team in the conference both at home and on the road, with the exception of a single match each against the defending champion Colorado State Rams (away) and the Wyoming Cowgirls (home). this balanced schedule offers ample possibility for the team to showcase their talent and build crucial conference momentum.
The Spartans will kick off their 18-match conference season at Spartan Gym, hosting UNLV on September 25th and San Diego State on September 27th.These early home games provide a chance to establish a strong foothold in the conference standings. following the home stand, the team will hit the road for their first away games, traveling to Logan, Utah, to face Utah State on october 2nd and than heading to Boise, Idaho, to compete against Boise State on October 4th.
October will see a significant stretch of home games as SJSU welcomes Nevada (October 9th), Air Force (October 11th), and Fresno State (October 14th) for three consecutive matches at Spartan Gym. This home advantage could be a crucial factor in securing significant wins.
The team will conclude the home portion of their conference schedule in November, hosting Boise State and Utah State. these late-season matchups could be pivotal in determining their seeding for the Mountain West Championship.
The 2025 Mountain West Championship is scheduled to take place from November 26th to 29th. The Spartans will be vying for the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The complete 2025 San José State volleyball schedule will be released later this spring, providing fans with further details and opportunities to support the team.
This schedule proclamation comes at a time of increased excitement surrounding collegiate volleyball. The sport has seen a surge in popularity, particularly among younger audiences, mirroring trends seen in professional volleyball leagues both domestically and internationally. Success in the Mountain West often relies on a team’s ability to defend their home court and steal a few key victories on the road.
