Dr. Sharma: We are very excited to see the growth in the sport’s popularity. We are doing everything we can. We are increasing our social media presence using the #AllSpartans hashtag, enhancing our live streaming capabilities, and improving the overall fan experience at Spartan Gym. We are also working with the university to promote volleyball to a wider audience.
Archyde News: The Mountain West has programs steadily improving, and teams like Stanford and UCLA are highly prosperous. What are the key things required for SJSU to elevate the level of competition to be more aligned with those top-tier Pac-12 teams?
Dr. Sharma: Continued investment in our student-athletes, providing excellent coaching and training support and building a strong volleyball program.Recruiting talented players, fostering a winning culture, and ensuring our athletes have the resources they need to succeed on and off the court. We will have a competitive team.
Archyde News: The Mountain West Championship is at the end of November. What goals do you have for the team in the championship?
Dr.Sharma: Our goal is always to compete at the championship level and make a run at the title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. We’ll focus on taking it one match at a time, aiming to play our best volleyball when it matters most.

dr. Sharma: Every conference game is a contest of will, and every match gives us an chance to showcase how prepared the team is. We will be focusing on our preparations and training diligently,no matter who we play.
